Hi we are going to Frejus in September and we are debating on booking a car. If you have been here did you hire a car and if not then how did you get around. We are actually staying at La Baume in Frejus. Frejus is on the Nice - St Raphael direct train service - a lot less hassle than car hire - but you have a large number of people in tow! Nice - Cannes is 12 euro adult return Nice - Frejus will be double on a distance basis - times seven - youre looking at an equation that suggest car hire is dear but not so much dearer given the number of people travelling Then with fares for day trips etc it does add up quickly.
GBP is very expensive for car hire. This may be obvious but did you look at the price of hiring 2 small "supermini" size cars that would easily accommodate 2 Adults and 1 baby each.
I know it makes the travelling around a bit less convenient but can also add flexibilty if stereotype warning the women want to go shopping for an afternoon and the boys can play with the babies on the beach. Sounds like a car s would be easiest.
Might be worth checking some of the cost comparison websites and looked at brokers with all inclusive deals. Another one to try is to go into the Norwich Union website, www. There is a bus from la baume to frejus centre, the beach and st Raphael where it is easy to travel to St Tropez , Monaco , anitbes and cannes. The bus is only about every two hours but is cheap you can get a time table from reception.
We booked a transfer with ATs that was expensive but efficient. Reception will ring for taxis and you can get to Carrefour by taxi to do your big shop. Taxis are expensive short journeu 20 euros! Frejus is lovely and the beack at San Raphel is good! Do niot be misled by the last posting.
